1st Birthday Cakes

Your baby’s first twelve months fly by so quickly. One minute you’re bringing your new bundle home, and in a flash it’s time to look for 1st birthday cake ideas.

If you are the nostalgic type, then look no further than the beautiful 1st birthday cake we recently created.

Inspired by Beatrix Potter’s magical world of Peter Rabbit, this was a 1st birthday cake with a difference – and we’re sure is a sign that a trend towards traditionally-themed children’s cakes is here.

The sweet and gentle Peter Rabbit cake is one of our favourites to date, and stirred up lots of warm, sentimental emotions sparked by childhood memories.

It wasn’t just about the main cake, however. There were a number of components that went into making this lovely party theme come to life.

The Centerpiece

The gorgeous 1st birthday cake was two tiers of perfection. It comprised a white cake topped with a lifelike Peter Rabbit. The amazing sky blue tone that is at the centre of any Peter Rabbit design was a striking contrast against the pure white icing.

Cupcakes

These just looked too good to eat, but were enjoyed nonetheless! There were two different cake toppers created for the cupcakes. The first was a blue and white topper adorned with the number 1, while the second was an absolutely adorable bunny-friendly design with lettuce and carrots.

Biscuits

For those who prefer something other than cake we made these delicate biscuits, and they were a hit with guests of all ages. Just as we did with the cupcakes, there were two different designs – some with a number “1” topper, and others with an image of that cheeky Peter Rabbit!

Décor

This 1st birthday cake idea was just the beginning for this charming party. Your choice in décor plays a big role in creating a magical themed party. You want your guests to feel as though they’ve stepped into a whole new world. Everything from the floral table centrepieces, to the drinks cart – complete with blue beverage in drink dispensers – was chosen to match the theme.
